Subaru to Plant One Million Trees in Partnership with National Forest Foundation
Subaru’s subsidiary Subaru of America recently announced that it will be partnering with the National Forest Foundation to replant one million trees. The subsidiary will target those forests and areas in the United States that were devastated by wildfires. Together with the National Forest Foundation, the company will expand to Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. This comes as part of the Subaru Re-Foresting Project which has been steadily providing aid to California. This new effort targets the states which have been hit hardest by recent wildfires. Many automakers like Subaru have been working toward producing electric vehicles in an effort to combat global climate crises. Subaru recently announced its first electric car, the Solterra. Not much is known about the EV, but Subaru’s trailer and teaser images leave many wanting more. Many others have sought to curb greenhouse gases and carbon emissions but it seems Subaru is trying to take the lead.
Subaru to Plant One Million Trees
Subaru will be partnering with the National Forest Foundation to replant one million trees by 2022. This initiative comes as a part of Subaru’s Forester Re-Forester Project which first launched in 2019. The project began as a part of Subaru’s Love Promise initiative which focuses on protecting the Earth’s natural wonders for future generations. Together with the National Forest Foundation, Subaru will target several states —Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and California— which have been affected by wildfires. About the initiative Subaru of America President and CEO Thomas J. Doll said,
Subaru Re-Foresting Project in 2019 as a way to help rebuild the lives of the animals and people who call the area home, and we are now expanding that commitment to include three additional states that have also been severely impacted by wildfires," said Thomas J. Doll. "Although wildfires continue to cause damage across the West, we hope that the expansion of replanting trees in more states contributes to the revitalization of the precious resources that are our public lands and national forests.
Subaru’s subsidiary Subaru of America initially planted 500,000 trees in areas impacted by California wildfires when it first started in 2019. Now, together with the National Forest Foundation and hired professionals, Subaru will work to replant an additional 500,000 trees in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. In commemoration of the program and partnership, Subaru will launch an advertising campaign to showcase its reforestation efforts. These efforts will be broadcast across national TV and digital platforms to raise awareness about the reforestation effort.
