The 2024 Subaru Impreza Gets a Makeover
The renowned Subaru Impreza RS trim level introduced in 1998 is back. The car has been completely redesigned for 2024 and comes equipped with a range of new features and updates. The biggest change is the removal of the sedan body style, making the Impreza exclusively a hatchback.
The 2024 Subaru Impreza RS
The Subaru Impreza is a hatchback that offers all-wheel drive as a standard feature, making it the most affordable option in the market. The starting price for the 2024 Impreza is $24,085 (plus destination fee) for the base trim, and consumers can opt for the mid-range Sport trim, which costs $26,085 MSRP (plus destination fee). The Sport trim offers numerous ideal features to choose from.
The entry-level Subaru Impreza includes dual 7.0-inch displays, which support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a four-speaker stereo, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Additionally, the base Impreza comes equipped with 16-inch wheels, adaptive headlights, and roof rails. Driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, automatic forward emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. On the other hand, the Sport model offers a larger 11.6-inch touchscreen display, a bigger digital driver’s display, navigation, and Subaru’s Starlink-connected services. The mid-range trim also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker audio system, keyless entry, push-button start, 18-inch wheels, and sportier suspension tuning.
One of the most notable enhancements in the Subaru Impreza is the more robust 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, replacing the prior 2.0-liter engine. This improved engine boasts an impressive 182 horsepower and 178 lb-feet of torque. The Subaru Impreza RS model comes with dark gray 18-inch wheels, RS exterior badging, a black grille finish, side spoilers, side mirrors, and upgraded LED headlights and fog lights that set it apart from the rest of the lineup.
Inside the car, find unique gunmetal and simulated carbon fiber trim accents, black cloth front sport seats with red bolsters, an upgraded leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, aluminum alloy pedals, heated front seats, and USB charge ports for passengers in the back.
2024 Subaru Impreza Gets More Updates
The Impreza’s newest model iteration is solely available as a hatchback and has received several updates to both its aesthetics and mechanics. The vehicle now includes a dual-pinion electronic power steering rack, which was taken from the WRX, resulting in a more genuine steering experience. Additionally, the 2024 Impreza has experienced a 10 percent improvement in its torsional rigidity. The Sport and RS trims feature Subaru’s Starlink 11.6-inch touchscreen, while the RS trim goes above and beyond by offering blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The RS also includes the option to upgrade to a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a moonroof, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.
